Custom Bike Fitting

Who needs a bike fit?
Anyone who rides a bike should get a bike fit. Bike fitting is a process of making positional modifications in order maximize your rider safety and optimize rider experience.

What does is mean to safely ride a bike?
Injuries in cycling can sometimes happen from falls or trauma, however Non-professional athletes and recreational riders typically suffer injuries more chronic in nature.  Safely riding a bike means riding your bike without accumulating abnormal stress on your body due to things that are simply preventable.

Areas of the Body that typically suffer from Chronic Injury:
  - Cervical spine
  - Hands (paresthesia: numbness and tingling)
  - Lower back
  - Hip
  - Knee
  - Feet (Deformity) OR (paresthesia: numbness and tingling)
**Perineum: Pubic arch of the pelvic region

For Example: If a saddle is too high, you may shift your hips side to side to reach the pedals at the bottom of the stroke causing lower back strain or perineum loading that you may not feel over the course of an hour long ride. However chronic low back pain and abnormal pelvic stress from riding a bike are two things that are  preventable with a good quality bike fit.

Why do I need a professional?
Bike Fitting is the process of making simple 2mm adjustments to the position of the bike in order to elicit change in the very complicated human bio mechanical system.

Most local bike shops can provide simple tips for setup however, this is like doing a wheel alignment on your car by visual inspection with it on the ground; It appears fine but when it moves there is severe dysfunction.

How Can a Medical Professional Help My Cycling Experience.

Comprehensive clinical examination skills and biomechanical assessment performed by medical professionals will accurately identify areas of the body that need improvement for proper cycling form.

Fitting a flawed human system to a bike to try to match "ideal form" is simply not OPTIMAL.
